Bute Energy is planning three wind farms for mid-Powys consisting of 65 turbines up to 220m high and a grid connection corridor of more than 300 pylons running 60 miles all the way to Carmarthen. The planning application for the first of these wind farms, Nant Mithil, has now been submitted. The documents can be viewed on the PEDW (Planning and Environment Decisions Wales) website. The closing date for submissions is 23rd DECEMBER 2025.

The Statutory Public Consultation for Nant Mithil Wind Farm took place in May & June 2024. CPRW submitted the following responses to the Statutory Public Consultation in June 2024:

Planning application for the wind farm was originally submitted to PEDW in December 2024, but was not accepted as several ecological surveys were incomplete. A revised application was submitted in October 2025 and has now been accepted as complete and published for public consultation.
